Tesla Model 3, Wuling Hongguan MINI EV, and Tesla Model Y ranked in the top 3.
According to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence of Britain and Adamas Intelligence of Canada, the top 20 best-selling electric vehicles in 2021 were released. Tesla Model 3, Wuling Hongguan MINI EV, and Tesla Model Y ranked in the top 3, which was followed by Volkswagen ID.4, BYD Han EV, Volkswagen ID.3, Changan BenBen E-Star, Renault Zoe, Chery eQ1, and Kia Niro EV.
In 2021, the registered sales volume of electric vehicles in the world totaled around 6.514 million. Tesla swept the whole global market to rank No. 1 with an overwhelming sales volume of 935,700 vehicles.
From the perspective of product structure, the global sales of Model 3 took up the highest percentage, namely 54%, of Tesla’s total sales, which was close to 510,000; and Model Y sold out around 400,000, registering 43% of the total. Recalling the monthly sales structure of the whole year, one can find that the market share of Model 3 was gradually declining, while the market share of Model Y kept on rising linearly.

In 2021, the total sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) reached 5 million.
In Europe, the sales volume of electric vehicles exceeded that of diesel vehicles for the first time in history. In North America, the sales volume increased by 87% compared with that in 2020. Besides, with the launch of multiple electric pickups, the electric vehicle market of 2022 will embrace another speed-up.
